  1. ZSTU stems from the Sericulture Academy founded in 1897, and now has a history of 110 odd years. It was named Zhejiang Institute of Silk Textile.

In recent 5 years, ZSTU has won over 170 research awards, among which 7 are national, namely, 4 second prizes of the National Scientific and Technological Invention Award, 2 second prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 1 prize of Luxun Literature Award and over 70 are of provincial or ministerial level.
